Our space is your space. Welcome to Yamba Boutique.
As a minority owned and multicultural cannabis retail leader Yamba Boutique’s mission is to participate authentically in building a socially restorative adult cannabis market in Massachusetts and beyond. Our commitment to our Yamba family is to provide an inclusive and exemplary experience focused on a broad selection of unique strains, quality products and customer journey.
Located in the heart of historic Harvard Square, Yamba Boutique welcomes the cannabis-curious and knowledgeable alike into an unparalleled personalized boutique experience. Black owned and operated, Yamba Boutique’s foundation is ingrained in creating a safe space to educate and empower women and disproportionately harmed communities.
Leah Samura is a Dorchester native who created a wellness adult cannabis lifestyle for herself through a holistic relationship with the plant. A long-time cannabis advocate, she has introduced cannabis to many people who might not otherwise feel comfortable trying or purchasing cannabis products themselves, including an older generation of women in her own community. Additionally, Leah introduced her husband, an Iraq veteran who suffered from pain from his military service, to the pain relief that cannabis can offer. Together, they created a sex positive cannibas product, Purient Bedroom Cannabis.
In addition to leading Purient and Yamba Boutique, Leah is also the President of Cannabis By Default Inc., a cannabis consulting company that focuses on real pathways to employment and ownership for people who have been disproportionately harmed by the grotesque enforcement policies of cannabis prohibition. As someone who has witnessed such policies first-hand, Leah is committed not only to ending the misguided war on people caused by cannabis prohibition, but to being a mentor and guiding light for those who look to the cannabis industry as a means to create pathways to economic freedom. Leah is currently contributing to a groundbreaking cannabis training campus in Boston, which will include a greenhouse for cultivation, manufacturing facilities and both medical and adult use retail.
As a strong advocate for women, Leah believes that women can be, should be, and deserve to be leaders in the cannabis community.
In 1864, a police station was built at 31 Church Street in the shadow of Harvard University, one of the most elite – and historically white – institutions in the country. Over 150 years later, this will be the location of the first majority women-owned and 100% black owned adult-use cannabis establishment in Cambridge. Co-owners Leah Samura and Sean Hope see this location as a historical, intimate spot to have a memorable experience for both seasoned cannabis users and folks exploring cannabis for the first time.
Education, empowerment, and accessibility will be at the forefront of the store with women-focused events, dosage guides, and an inclusive in-store experience. Products by equity applicants, economic empowerment applicants, people of color, minority owned businesses, and local micro-businesses will continue to push diversity and equity in the larger cannabis community.
